About Me
When I visit a new blog, one of the first things I do is visit the About page. The About page is the part that should reveal who the blogger is – if there is no About page or it is just a sad little paragraph that is nothing but an afterthought, I likely won’t be back. I want to know who I’m reading about. I want to get a good feel for who they are and what their life is like and who the people in their life are.
My earlier version of this blog had a kick-ass About page. But it is gone now because – well, just back up your blog ok?
So, here’s the new and revised About Me page.

The Family
The Hubby (DH) – We met online 5 years ago, married 4 years ago, and we are grateful everyday that we found each other (and if you want accurate dates/times you’d have to ask him because honestly I really suck at that type of thing). My hubby suffers from anxiety/panic disorder and that’s all I’ll say about that. This blog isn’t about him. If he wants to share his life online he’ll start his own blog. What can I tell you about him? He’s very sweet; a kind and gentle soul. He treats me like a Queen and thinks that men who don’t treat their wives/girlfriends like Queens are scum. He loves the Red Sox and baseball in general. I truly believe that most men should take lessons on how to be a man from him.
DD – darling daughter, who is more often that not, not much of a little darling. She’s 16 and going to be having a little darling of her own in December. You may not believe me when I tell you but her being a pregnant teenager is not the most trying thing that she’s thrown at me. She’s been…challenging, to be polite… since she was 11. Well, she was challenging before that but when she turned 11 she started a whole new thing. Trouble went way beyond temper tantrums and not wanting to get up for school.
DS – darling son, who is a darling most of the time. He’s a pretty good kid. Stays out of trouble for the most part. He should pay more attention in school and get more work done. He’s kind of a wanna-be but he’ll eventually figure out what it is he wants to be when he grows up.
The Fur-Babies
Three cats. Matt is the oldest at 7 years. We think he is part Maine Coon, mostly because he is huge, very furry, and very attached to my husband. He has a bad ear so he kind of looks like a grump in pictures but he’s a really gentle cat. Theo is my baby, and he’s 7 months old. He’s cute as hell and love to go outside and he’s orange. And Princess. We started off naming her Patches when we got her a few weeks ago (she’s only about 2 months) but Princess just suited her so well.
The Work
Yep, as mentioned, I work from home. To be honest, some days I don’t do a whole hell of a lot. Some days I just fart around on Facebook and Twitter and play Cityville a lot. Other days (like today) I update my blogs (I have several). Then some days I actually work by blogging and doing other social media work for a Canadian business college. Some days I write loads of articles for sites like InfoBarrel and Bukisa so I can make residual income (if you want to know more about that check out my Making Money with Residual Income blog). Oh, and two days a week I teach Essential Skills for a few hours in the evening.
The Town
I used to live in Winnipeg. When I was younger (early twenties) the only thing I could think of was getting out of this hick town and moving to the big city so I could go to bars, go dancing, see concerts, and so on. So, I did that for a few years, then got pregnant, and it pretty much all stopped. For the last 15 years that I was in the city, the only thing I could think of was coming home. And in August of 2010 that is exactly what I did.
My town has only about 4500 residents. Our house is almost in the middle of town. The Co-op (where I buy all of my groceries) is right across the street. There are pharmacies within a block, the coffee shop I meet my mom at several times a week is two blocks away. My very part time job is a little over 2 blocks away. The post office is 3 blocks away. I rarely need to go anywhere that is further than a few blocks away. And I love it.
My family is all here – my mom, my dad, my sister and her family.
I am finally home.
